Water Infrastructure Development Projects in Yatta/Kwavonza Ward

Hon. Mark Nding’o, MCA for Yatta/Kwavonza Ward, has overseen several water infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving access to clean and sustainable water sources for schools and communities. These projects include the Ilika Secondary School borehole, Kyainya borehole solarization and water kiosk, and the drift construction at Kitalinga Stream in Makusya Village which also supports water management and accessibility.

Ilika Secondary School Borehole Project

The project involves drilling and equipping a borehole at Ilika Secondary School, which will also supply water to Ilika Primary School and the surrounding community. Objectives include:

  • Providing a reliable source of clean water
  • Supporting hygiene and sanitation in schools and community facilities
  • Reducing the burden of fetching water from distant sources
  • Promoting community well-being

Kyainya Borehole Solarization and Water Kiosk

This project focuses on equipping the Kyainya borehole with solar-powered pumping and a water kiosk, supplying clean water to Kyainya Primary School and the surrounding community. The project aims to:

  • Provide sustainable and energy-efficient water supply
  • Improve hygiene and sanitation
  • Ensure consistent access to safe water

Kitalinga Stream Drift Construction

The drift construction at Kitalinga Stream in Makusya Village enhances accessibility and water management for the surrounding areas. The project provides:

  • Support for local water flow and drainage management
